Almost but not quite. About '51 actually.

Only the type I trans is in the 1940's and that's late '40s. And I bet most people wouldn't recognize one if that had it in hand. The pre-trans however is solidly in the 1940's. Often referred to as a "first stamp" by people that don't know any better.
