I have the blue satin wrap from this seller. It scratches very easily (as satin flames do), but it's beautiful.
Here are some bad cell phone pics of the wrap on my Luddies. The drums aren't quite done, but I couldn't resist snapping a couple of shots as I was working on them. (I know satin flame isn't an original Ludwig finish, but it's more or less from the same time period, and man, does it look good.)
Satin wrap is notoriously hard to photograph, so you should know that the photo on the left isn't really an accurate representation. The 3D effect isn't nearly as pronounced in real life -- it's the flash that brought it out in the photo. The real color is darker, and has a lovely purple undertone to it. I'd call it a dark indigo in natural light. The photo on the right is terrible quality, but it gives you a better idea of the colour of the wrap in a relatively dark room. In natural light, the wrap is somewhere between the two pics, and looks great.
I'll warn you again about the scratching, though. I was very careful, but I managed to give it a few noticeable scratches during the wrapping process. From three feet away, they're unnoticeable and the wrap looks gorgeous, but it's not very durable. On the bright side, it's thin and very easy to work with. Might be a good choice for older drums that have trouble fitting standard heads.
