Bought these over the weekend. All the drums are free
Floating. The brackets on the floor toms say LUDWIG.
Any info would be great.
From that picture.
They look like a home made / do it yourself project.
Pretty unique and simplistic idea.

What does the badge look like? How many plies?
So the red 'lug' shifts up or down depending on which rim presents more tension? Seems like from the one picture shown that this is going to operate like a glorified single tension drum? Free-floaters normally have independent tensioning of the bottom head, if I recall correctly.
Ambitious project, certainly! Will be interested to hear your evaluation of its operation.

It appears as though the bottom rim is screwed directly to the pink thang with a countersunk screw. And based on the off-center hole for the tension bolt on the bottom drum, I’d agree that it’s a home jobbie by someone with a little imagination, a little free time, and a whole bunch o’ pink thangs!
Let us know how they work!

Physics states that there can NEVER EVER be a free-floating tuning system that allows independent tensioning between top and bottom heads. It's always going to be an either/or situation. And no, Pearl's design isn't free-floating no matter what they say!
The only truly free-floating drums are those old old rope tensioned drums....and also the old "toy" drums with the t-rods....but neither is independent tensioning.
If you want to be able to tension top and bottom heads independently then there has to be a "lug" of something that connects with the shell.
Peavey, Arbiter and Gaither (to name three) had some interesting ideas to alter or minimize the traditional lugged designs of independently tensioned drums, but none could avoid attaching to the shell in some way or the other....And, by the way, none of the systems ever achieved a major difference in sound from a traditional, lugged drum to any kind of "WOW! THAT'S DIFFERENT!" kind of degree
More pics would be appreciated...Very intriguing!!
Cheers
