Anybody have Dealings With Sergio Bellotti at 247 Drums?

I ordered a used 16" Sabian crash from Sergio Bellotti at 247 Drums on Reverb on 11/16. It's now 11/26 and there's been no sign of the cymbal, and UPS has absolutely no record that it was ever shipped. He's located in Boston, which is usually a 24 hour shipping delivery window from my home. I messaged the seller, who apologized and said he'd look into it. I also called Reverb and reported it. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Then, I checked Bellotti's feedback on Reverb, and while he has mostly four and five stars, he also has his fair share of one and two stars, almost always for slow shipping and even for failing to ship. That's unacceptable to me as a buyer and seller. Several people had to open cases against him to get their money back. A few people said he misrepresented products they bought from him. Clearly, this guy has issues when it comes to honesty and integrity.

Has anyone here had any dealings with Sergio Bellotti? And why does Reverb continue to allow him to sell? That's another question I have that needs an answer.

I'm an e bay buyer, and I always look at the sellers rating first. Anything below 98%, and I won't buy from him/her.

My guess is these sites let bad sellers continue to sell because of the rating system they use. It's the buyer that has to decide whether or not the seller is worth taking a chance on.

Unfortunately, Sergio has too many things going on, such as eaching at Berklee College of Music in Boston, to properly run his drum shop. I know it has moved on at least three occasions. I remember when he was in Haverhill, MA, then Winchester, MA, now somewhere closer to Berklee in Boston. There was an actual brick and mortar behind his ebay and reverb stores at one time, not sure now. I was never impressed with what he kept in the shop. Mostly used up import junk, but unfortunately that is what is in the market in this area. Its very hard to find good quality used equipment in these parts. I personally never had an dealings with him, as he never had anything worth purchasing in my eyes. Hope things work out for you.

The situation has been rectified and put to rest. Sergio messaged me that he had no idea what happened to the cymbal, but it was gone. It seemed to me that he didn't really know what had happened to it. In any event, he refunded me the money into my Paypal account, so that's settled. He seems like a scatterbrain who has no idea how to run a business and keep an inventory straight. I don't know that, never having had dealings with him before.

I sent him a message saying it's doubtful I would ever deal with him again, that one and two star ratings are unacceptable as a seller, and that I'd advise him to clean up his act, as the Internet has a way of destroying seller's reputations. He replied that he's very busy, has "issues" and will try to improve. My question again is, why does Reverb continue to allow guys like this to sell?

On a positive note, I came home from the gig last night and promptly bought another Sabian AA medium/thin cash from another seller for a couple bucks more with my replenished Paypal funds. He has a 100% five star rating. I should have the cymbal next week.

Glad it all worked out for you in the end!!

Feedback/star ratings are very important to me when I buy online...I will pay more to buy from a seller with higher ratings...It`s not worth dealing with the ones with low ratings...They have them for a reason...

Cheers

I should have paid closer attention to Bellotti's feedback.
