Anybody ever heard of Roxy Drums?

Hi,Wes,Remo does make a 21" bass drum head,they also make the heads for a the Trixon "egg" bass drum..Also if i recall right "D.W." came out with a 21" bass drum a few years ago,not sure how that went over.. Mikey

mikey - if u can find any info on where i can purchase a 21" head from, i would owe u massively!! i have tried and tried and tried some more... the local drumshop here in west oz got in touch directly with remo, and they couldn't help!!

i have had a quick google, and DW made a 23" kick drum... i have just posted a query on the remo site... i'll c wot happens...

HI,Wes, I have a friend who has a friend who works at remo in hollywood,ca i will send an email off to him to see what he can fine in the back room at remo--a few years back i restored a Trixon set of drums and needed the heads for the "EGG" bass drum remo had the heads in the back room,i needed to finish off the set..I also have some off size heads at my shop i will check to see if i have a 21" head,,I will P.M. you in a few days...mikey

Hi Wes. I just saw this thread and am quite interested in your kit. I might be able to help with your head problems. I have 29 Roxy/Tromsa(Roxy was not a manufacturer----Tromsa was ) drums, all of which were made sometime between the early 50's and probably no later than 1970. Of these only one early bass drum is an off size----it is 21 3/16"-----a 21" head will not fit. I am a skilled head relapper so I continue to use calf heads on this drum,which I prefer anyway. There are probably people in Australia who can do this for you. Alternately, Remo will do custom heads. I have a very large order in with them at the moment for many sizes for the earlier Trixon drums one of which is 21 1/2" for the early Trixon version of a 22" bass. These might also work on the Roxy as well. They will be very expensive especially shipped to Australia. Check locally and see if anyone can lap heads, there but if you desire I can probably get a head to you. good luck ; Phil.

Just got a 14" Roxy cymbal made in Germany. Don't know if it's a high hat or not. It's kind of gongy. It says TURKISH CYMBALS and GERMANY on it. I've found 1 or 2 others in the past but no drums.
