Any value to old calfskin heads?

Loading...

I recently bought a 26" 1940 ludwig bass with calfskin heads on it. Both heads are torn, but the wood hoops (not quite sure what the technical term is) are in fine condition. When I say wood hoops, I am refering to the part that the actual skin is attached to. Is there any value to these? Anybody out there re-skin something like this?

They are called "Flesh Hoops". They worth something to someone and this is the best place on the planet to sell them to the right people, and if there is any portion of the calf that is salvagable, they could worth a few pennies as reskins. Post some pics in the "For Sale" section. They will move pretty quickly.

Thank you! There is a fair amount of skin left on one of them for sure, the other is ripped pretty bad. I will try to post them next week.
