Any value in this old Slingerland Snare Drum?

It's missing parts and somebody has drilled the shell and put a Ludwig p85 and butt plate on it. I have seen this model with a Sonor Dual Glide strainer installed as a replacement for the original strainer without the need to drill holes in the shell. The original strainer is hard to find so I might set this up with a Sonor Dual Glide strainer just so I can play it. I think it's a Maple shell? in White Marine Pearl. Missing the bottom hoop too and the bottom 8 tension rods. If I sold it as it is what could I expect to get out of it? Would it be worth my while restoring it with all original parts and selling it? Do these shells sound good? The bearing edges look nice. Your thoughts?

I should mention that the snare is drilled for the Super Strainer (clamshell) So it's a Super Gene Krupa model or a Radio King?

I might go with the Sonor strainer if I can't find the clamshell.

Appears to fit the factory holes.

I know, but what can you do? It fits the factory holes. Where am I going to find a clamshell strainer and buttplate? Obviously I'd love to have the original strainer, wires etc. I just want to get that p85 eyesore off of this shell STAT!

I think that's a solid shell (maple), as those were the ones which came with the "clamshell" strainer (which was known for breaking) An intact version would normally fetch somewhere in the neighborhood of $300. If it's a solid shell, I would think it worth at least $150-$200.

Below are two Gene Krupa models from 1960 catalog. I believe that your snare is on the right; also, though the badge on yours dates it to about 1955-1957, the basic design is the same.

Thanks so much for the information. I've only owned a few Slingerlqnd drums over the years so I'm no expert. Especially when talking about the wood shells from this era.
