Those are SWEET. I like the custom autographed bass head, nice touch. I'd love to have one of those kits. Ian is a fav of mine. Wow it's been almost 40 years since Machine Head came out??? I'm gettin old LOL. I last saw Deep Purple back in 05 and they still put on a great show. Mountain was the opener. Took my boys and a few of their freinds. Good time.

Any idea what those kits are going for?? Eye Ball

Saw DP in '72 or '73 for the first time. I've always been a fan of Paice. I remember him playing Ludwig though... not any longer?

Yes right here!!! Saw DP in 1974 when i was 14 years old in L.A.,ca.To me Ian is the best R&R drummer till this day.The DP album "Made In Japan" 1972 is the best live album ever..Ian if i recall right he went to Pearl drums is 1990..He was using them in 1997 or 8 when i got to meet him after a show we sat and talk drums, music and i even showed him one of the O.C.D.P. snare drums that i made it was a 6.5x14 20 ply maple shell with 4 holes on the side wrapped in purple sparkle. He liked the drum so i give it to him. I went the next night to Arco in sac.ca he was using the snare drum that night. He give me a pair of stixs and signed drum head back stage passes for the show up in sac.ca the next night.....Mikey

They were out here on that tour as well... Only time I saw them live..

I think the kits start at around 5000.00 British pounds... whatever that translates to..

Cheers

That's about $7.900 US give or take a few bucks. Would be cool to own one of those kits. Come on lotto!!! LOL

Yep DP was a great show and also the first time I saw them live. I can't remember for sure but think Ian played Pearl then. And yes Ludwig long ago.

Mikey that's cool you met Ian and built him a snare also!! Very lucky man you are. Must have been a great time too~!

Attention: these kits are designed for a lefty ...

Personally I don't give such signature kits any chances on the market. The Keith Moon 'Pics of Lilly' replica sets were a flop, if I'm right (selling prices on ebay never reached the target price).

I love Paicy too and I'm a fellow lefty! Lovely kits but Ralfs right - they don't sell very well because they are so expensive. I think in reality they end up going to rich rock collectors and the like.

With only 12 kits being made (4 kits in each of 3 colors black, silver sparkle and WMP) It'll be interesting to see. I'll take mine in WMP.

Ralf how long ago were the POL kits offered? I never heard about those. Were they exact replicas of the original kit? Those sound cool. Anyone have any info on them?

Ralf may know more, but the POL kits were pretty recent I seem to recall - last five-10 years? They were really nice-looking but just cost too much. I recall a drum shop over here trying to shift one on ebay for ages. They were true to spec with the three, 14" toms (or was it four!) and the design was great.
