Any information on this Camco endorser?

I recently obained this through an Ebay auction. Jimmy Manone apparently played drums for Curtis Lee who was famous for the doo-wop ditty "Pretty little Angel Eyes" among others in the very early 1960's. What's interesting is that Jimmy Manone doesn't show up on any of the Camco catalogs, yet here he is. Through some brief googling I found that he recorded with a big band in Vegas in 1971, but beyond that the trail goes cold. There is a multi-instrumentalist by the same name, but he is way too young to be this guy. Does anybody know him or have any background information?

Thanks!!

No idea, but I can say he was an astute individual (like Ringo, Ginger, Mitchell et all) and used a Ludwig double-tom mounting system.

Ringo used the best tom mount available--Rogers Swivomatic on his Ludwig drum set. In the 1960s, that was a very common adaptation by top drummers for whatever brand of drums they played.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Here is a close-up shot of the ludwig system.

It's the "new" Ludwig retracting double tom holder (781-1C) according to the 1967 catalog.

That's right, and the others did too. But at the time the Camco endorser was photographed, I'm going to guess that pictured Ludwig double unit was about as good as you could get. The early Swiv-o-matic Rogers produced was a Swiv-o-matic light and tended to Sway like Dean Martin. The later version was much better. Even so, that Ludwig unit was trustworthy in my experience. You didn't have to worry a lot about failure during the gig and it was as easy to set up as the Rogers mount - set it and forget it. The only thing they did have to improve was the lock on the bass drum diamond plate, but radiator clamps could rescue it.

And by the Way, that's why Camco was able to buy out George. His double tom holder was about as good as the one Harold "Doc" West is using in other post that's up right now. Hurting
