Just wanted to share a quick update on this 'Dynasonic' project... I'm not going to try and do the cut down and bearing edges myself, so I got in contact with Latindrum/On The Edge and now he's got the shell. I found a COB Dynasonic locally on Craigslist this weekend for a great price and the hardware is perfect. No pitting on the lugs, strainer and butt plate are complete, muffler all there, and correct rims. No snare frame, but that would have been too much to ask for and can be added later. It's a later Big R shell with the lugs with clips rather than springs, but that's not a problem as they are in such good shape.

I've done plenty of reading, but can't figure out for sure if the hole spacing for things like the throw and butt plate are the same for a wood as a COB Dyna? Should I just ship the COB shell to use as a template for the holes for the corresponding wood shell?

This is a fun project for sure.
