Why wouldn't the tuning wing nuts be on the bottom and out of the way?

I have seen them both ways but it seems you would eliminate hitting them if the were on the bottom.

Going by the rim cutout for the wires/gut.. I think these are a one way setup..

I agree with you but most makers produced them top and bottom. I have them on ebay with a good response.....Thanks....sean
