I just aquired this Dayton era Rogers kit in a champagne sparkle finish. I haven't had a champagne sparkle in years and this is my first Rogers. It has some issues, the 12,13,22 each have one small extra hole, the script badges have gone missing on all but the kick, (Sam Ash has reproductions for $15 each), one kick hoop is non-original and the original one doesn't have an inlay. The wrap and lugs are in great condition.
All in all in it's a cool little players kit.

The only thing I'm going to do is buy the script badges. The extra hole in the 12,13,22 are the size of a small screw and are covered. I'll leave the kick hoops as they are. But even if I plugged up the holes, got an original hoop and two inlays, it wouldn't cost too much. I plan on gigging this kit. They will look great on stage and I know they will sound fantastic.
Be careful. That kit is able to thunder!
Beautiful set. I'm guessing the little holes next to each swivo mount on the toms and bass are remnants from Memriloc mounts. Spacing looks about right...

Check the inside of the shells for signs of redrilling. Any labels inside the shells?

The 12,13,22 were fitted with Memriloc mounts. They made the existing hole bigger and drilled the extra hole to accommodate mount. The 16 is unmolested. They have Dayton tags.

The very first Rogers set I ever saw up close and personal was a set just like that: 12/13/16/22 in Champagne Sparkle. I was in Junior high but went to the high school for my after school drum set lesson (from the high school band director who had a Masters in Percussion) and another kid a couple years older (who played trombone in the school band but drums in a rock band) had his Rogers set there in one of the back rooms. I had my own gold sparkle Club Date set at the time but I was gaga over this beautiful set in perfect condition, especially the swivo hardware. That double tom mount impressed the heck out of me. Not long afterwards the owner traded them in towards a new Rogers set. It was black with Memri-Loc hardware and was an Octa-plus style set (did I mention this was a rich kid? not sure how he hauled that big set in his '67 Corvette). That newer set didn't impress me as much as the earlier set had. I maintained my loyalty to Ludwig (probably because I couldn't afford Rogers stuff) but that first sight of that Champagne sparkle set left a lasting impression on me.
