I picked up this snare at an auction a couple weeks ago. I'm replacing heads, wires and polishing the chrome. It looks to be in good shape and I can't wait to get it back together and try it out.
If anyone could help me get what period this snare is from, that would be awesome. I can get more pictures if needed. Maybe a picture of the inside of the shell would help.

I'm going to say it's a Hi-Fi model from the 70s. Possibly was wrapped originally
This photo shows a 60s Hi-Fi along side a 70s (aluminum model) Hi-Fi so you can see the different style of lugs. They generally came with die cast hoops but it seems in America they were sold with triple flange hoops

Awesome info. I wasn't really thinking Hi-Fi because the badge didn't have that on it. I must have missed that info when I was reading up on these. I processed a lot of info in a short time so I'm not surprised I didn't catch it.
I picked this snare up for $50 so I think it was a pretty good find.

the badge may be an American thing like the hoops if indeed that's where it's from. As you can see, mine's the same. $50 was a steal for such a cool drum.
I wanted to say late 60`s early seventies Hi-Fi but, I thought Hi-Fi was ten lugs not eight.

I'm still not convinced it's an 8 lugger, particularly when you look at the distance between badge and lug. Looks the same as mine up thread. I'm sticking with 10 until the OP confirmsCoffee Break2
You might be right, Old eyes, there is a lug close on either side of the throw, indicative of a ten......
