She was a greatly talented musician and vocalist who was largely unknown to most people.

Sorry to hear this. She lived here in Sacramento for a few years back in the mid-1980s, so I got to hear her play and sing many times. In fact, she replaced me in a quartet with saxophonist Boyd Phelps after I needed a break. She was a fine drummer with a GREAT swing feel.
