Two things, what do you think of me bringing with me my 20" converted floor tom to bass drum (20 x 18 bass drum) to my next gig? this one will be in Homer Glen, all pro stage and sound system, do you think if can produce a big enough sound to carry this rock band> I was going to wait for a smaller gig, but I was thinking it might be cool. IN the event anyone is near chi town this weekend, we play at the Homer Glen Fest 6/28 Sat at 5pm, we are opening for a band called Infinity, which is one of Chicago's top cover bands, this is in an honor, the fact we get paid a grand for this gig also makes it sweet to !!!!

Cool gig Gary! Lots of guys use 20" kicks for pop/rock. Usually they are going for a tighter, controlled sound and looking for a lot of umph from the PA. A lot of the gospel guys ask for them as well and they are looking for a ton of articulation. These are generally NOT the guys going for a more organic "OOMPH" ala' English-rock type sound. So the real question is what kind of sound are you looking for?

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
