AMATI Snare from the 70s

Loading...

Just finished that AMATI Beech Snare! Sounds class and looks cool in WMP.

Some stupid fellow took of the original wrap and painted the whole drum with white laquer...you can see it in the first pic.

AMATI is a very underrated European Company:-(

enjoy the pics

I was just about to say that I haven't seen those lugs on Amati before, but the previous post clarified things for me :)

Great job Chris, it looks really nice now :) Let us know what she sounds like...

Hy guys

@Dule THXS for the info, i did not know that AMATI was building drums that long;-)

Alex, the snare sounds great and it was a great pleasure to restore that drum. Everything works so cool on that snare:-)

I have the whole set, but the rest of the set is in very lousy state, lots of extraholes, the Tom mounts are completly destroyed, tension rods missing and so on....but i am going to bring it back to life...a wee bit different than original, but the quality of the shells it´s worth it:-)

Hi! Beautiful restoration! Looking forward to seeing the rest of your kit finished!

Dule, are you sure this is an 80s Amati? I think 80s dums had this type of lugs but with more rounded ends near the screws. This is typical 70s to me.

Hi Gilnar

Yes it is 80's drum, first half, still with 12x8 and 13x9 toms and 22x14 bass drum.Later they start produce deeper power toms and drum racks

Here is the rest of the kit finished now! I had to change the Tom mount and i put on a Ludwig tom mount...i know it´s not Vintage that way but it was not possible to get that part and i want the drums to be a useful playersset:-) so it`s ok to me:-)!

regards

Christian
