Amati 70s Concert Tom Kit converted to a Rockkit!:-)

Just finished my AMATI kit with the help of Gilnar. It was originaly a Concert Tom Kit where the Toms where as long as the 14" FT is .

To my ears a horrible sound...and an sound enginer might probably kill you for that Tom sound...could not stand it;:-)

So i decided to make a for todays use Rockkit out of it! Cut down the 13" , put a 45* bearing edge on it and closed all the concert toms. Did the same with the 14" Ht-converted it to a FT that sounds really good. The whole sound of the kit is monster;-) 6ply beechwood with 45* bearing edge:-)

I am so happy with it!

The configuration of this set was 13"14"16" but the Racktoms were both 16" long-wich is ridiculos for a Racktom IMO

So i cut down the 13" to 8" and made out of the 14" Tom a Floortom:-) !Now this set sounds really well...like a Sonor Phonic in my ears.

It´s a wrap like artificial leather-reminds me on the Ludwig stuff... i think the had leather stuff as wrap as well in the 70s?
