Alternate to engraving vintage drums

Loading...

My wife bought me a 63 Supra for my birthday. Yes, I know - she is special. Of course, she would like the drum badged in some way. I cannot bring myself to engrave the drum; so I'm trying to think of alternatives. A badge which spans the lugs? Any ideas most welcome.

The only thing I can think of is a trophy plate. It's a simple brass or chrome piece in whatever shape you want (round, oval, square, rectangle, star, etc.) with the inscription on it. That is then glued to the shell. No holes and no devalue of the drum. Seems like a nice compromise. These plates can be as large or as small as needed.

That's a good idea, probably your best bet. Contact cement or even hi-bond double stick tape to adhere....both relatively easy to remove if ever needed...

;)Thanks! If you had to live with me, you'd double those sentiments!

The trophy style plate with double sided tape sounds like the go. Thanks everyone - will post a pic . . .
