All-alu Supras - how rare and attractive?

Loading...

A friend has an all-alu Acrolite for sale - so called Pre-serial Keystone, prototype thingy.

Hoops and probably even lugs are aluminium - it is featherlight.

The damper is missing, or rather a later damper is incorrectly fitted, that seems to about all that´s "wrong".

How rare and attractive is it for a collector? How much should I pay - how much will you pay?

thats the first generation acrolite. many call them prototypes. i can't see the muffler area to see what youve mentioned. i ve got two. i paid 225 for a project one and 300 for a pristine complete one.

by the way, i wouldnt do rim shots with those original aluminum hoops. they bend easily.

Thanks!

Some say that only 200 were made - that seems pretty low, if they were an actual production model.

Any ideas as to a production number?

no idea jon. after the internet got to rolling good, more and more of these were seen. they are still uncommon however. not something you run across everyday for sure.
