Updated - see my post of Oct 18 below thanks.

I already received some very good advice here but I'm a slow learner -please don't be too hard on me haha.

I've got some drums for sale here (bundled to sell as the pickers say).

I have more into the drums than what I'm asking. The worth of the drums ON A VERY GOOD DAY (for the seller) is roughly $1800 - and I did spend lots of time looking around to come up with that number. So I think if I buck that in half it should be a good deal for the buyer.........yes?.....no?....

thoughts?

I'm trying to reduce my collection but I don't want to sell my Gretsch drums.

I have other drums that I would part with too.

A Slingy 15" parade drum in very good condition - the black oval badge - it's a nice drum.

Maybe my Acrolite - but sheesh! They're so cheap online and the SOUND so good! I hate to part with it because I know I won't get more than $70 for it but it feels/looks and sounds like a drum you would have to spend $200-$300 for. I'm not kidding - I'm a Gretsch guy but I think the Ludwig Acrolite IS probable the most underated drum out there - just my observations from what I see online and what I personally witness in playing the one I have.

The big question I have is:

Should I reduce my prices even more? Or, just wait it out and stick to my reduced price I have in the link here?

I agree that the price you have listed is good for a potential buyer - very fair.

The problem with packaging things together in a bundle from the seller's perspective is you need to find a buyer that wants or needs everything in the package.

Someone might want the drums without having any interest in the congas for example. It wouldn't stop me from contacting you, but some people might think it's an "all of nothing" sale.

By the way, if you want to reduce your collection a bit, and you have an interesting Star drum or two, PM me and maybe we could make a deal?

In my mind, with that bundle's wide variety, the only interested buyers would be resellers, strippers, or drum hoarders. Two of those three will only buy low as they worship the do-re-mi. The third found some spare room under the bed in the guest bedroom and needs to fill it up!

Push the individual items for sale, list your prices but make it well known, obvious, that you will take offers as well. This will be your best bet to get rid of all of that, IMO.

Good luck!

Thanks Drumhack.

That's kind of what I was thinking as well.

I've had them for sale on various sites for some time now with no real bites so I thought I'd bundle them and draw in a collector/player like myself (hoarder: I would not like to see them go to a Hoarder).

I'll keep plugging away at it. The bundle price is so good though. I would do that because it saves me the hassle of selling each one separately....packaging/shipping etc.

I do have an antique dealer interested in my Wilson brothers - local guy - so that's a start - a consignment thing.

I agree with Skink...& Drumhack

You have some nice stuff there and your pricing is indeed fair...Maybe keep the congas together and split the rest up a bit,,, and "bump up" accordingly to cover the extra "admin costs".

Cheers

I hate to bring up the EB thing however this is your best source to sell it all and get the most $$$. By selling each item individually, you attrack buyers for that specific item. If you dont sell on ebay, ask around, ask friends. I know a guy locally here that sells for poeple, takes a small commission. its the best way to go. G

I'VE POSTED THIS LOCALLY - AM I still out of line on the prices?

I don't think so - I think if I was looking at buying any of these I'd jump all over it.

But, that's me....not you..........what are

your thoughts please?

Hi Gary,

Writing from Halifax.

Good prices for the Cdn marketplace. I am surprised some of that stuff hasn't already gone,
