i deed something like this last year:-) Irecomend(because i loved it) an Evans EMAD caoted on the batterside, i had a real calfskin as reso, but i think Remo Fibreskyn should give you the same sound! On the reso i put a feltstripe. Very warm and bassy sound with a nice kick;-)

did you use the Emad with the muffler ring or without? I've had a Aq superkick II (similar to Emad) on a 24 inch Rogers bass drum. I didn't like it, it sounded too muffled to my taste. I'm afraid I'll have the same with Emad.

i ended up with using the small ring thats comes with it. No extra muffling exept the felt strip on the front! For my taste it was open enough of a sound, but every drummer has a different taste of sound:-)!

You could also try a Evans EQ4 coated - might be more for your ears:-)

Hi Cristian, here are pics of the now finished kit. I finally bought a ps3 and had to recut the bearing edge of the bass drum in order to not have to tune the ps3 head so high. it sounds great now.

First, that kit looks great ! I have a thing for Beverley drums ever since I lucked up on a kit on CL in a Neighboring city last year. Mine sound as good as any set I own. The 3 ply shells with rerings are so nice and build quality is excellent. I love the badges on them too. As far as that 12" shell I have a 12"x22" bass drum and settled on a PS3. For the batter. It gets a really nice low thump. Those bass drum Spurs look really cool too.

yes it sounds good. A lot of tone, and a very long and even sustain. All nice 'n woody.

@Vibes: I recently bought a 22/12/13/16 blue badge and I amplanning to restore/customize it. The wrap is black, except the floor tom,some greenish kind of swirl. gonna take the wrap off and see if the shells are decent enough to just sand, stain and laquer them. re-wrapping will be a bit to expensive. I plan on re-selling and if I have to invest in wrap, I have to ask too high a price.

Here's an Olympic by Premier set that I resored/customized. Sounds great to! A bit lighter.
