You guys do anything to the inside of MIJ kits/snares to add life to them?
Or there anything you guys buy and apply on the inside of the shells?

There are a couple things you can do to the inner shells...
First, apply a coat or two of tung oil...This will help moisturize the dry luan wood...
Or,
Second, apply a coat of clear lacquer...This will seal the wood and increase sound projection...

Agree with Rod 100%. I have used tung oil with great success. Just make sure you apply thin coats allow for plenty of drying time.

Lemmon oil? Hmmm...I don't know but, at least the drum will remind you of margaritas whenever you play it!

What type and brand of lacquer doe you guys use? I want to re-do my Crest set after the holidays. They have very little projection and resonance at this point.
