A vintage reproduction of a Radio King?

I bought a 30+ year old slingerland shell, solid maple, no holes drilled off ebay and bought the hardware from drummaker.com. Used the slingerland lugs and rims , with a Dunnett throw. Its a great drum and down the line if I find some old slingerland lugs and rims I can just switch them out. I put the Dunnett throw on it because its a players drum and I like their quality. I will always be on the lookout for " the real thing ", just want to find one in an attic or a Garage sale for next to nothing, I like that kind of collecting. But for about $250.00 I feel I got the next best thing.

MichaelSJ and BeBop!...

With apologies to you both, I felt I had to "edit" your posts from this thread as it seemed to me that it was going downhill fast... perhaps already balancing on the precipice of getting UGLY. That being said,

You are both entitled to your personal opinions of course, but hopefully shared in a more thoughtful manner as opposed to the very argumentive region it was entering. Indeed.

This is a GREAT forum/board, and you are both highly valued members and contributors!, and we'd like to keep it that way. And with that, there was much rejoicing! :-) THANKS for your understanding guys!

Hey Tommy,

I understand, I actually just checked back here to see if my post had been replied to and saw it was deleted.

My intentions were not bad tho, but some of my vintage drum love may have come out in a negative way.

All's good tho!
