A Poll To Name Rogers T-Rods Last viewed: 17 minutes ago

Loading...

This poll is for all the Rogers enthusiasts here and even if you`re not feel free to vote. It`s well established that the T- Rods from 1966/67`and back are called Bow Tie/Faucet style rods, but we need to come up with a name for the R-centre late Dayton T-rods(68`until the end) of Rogers, as they don`t seem to have a nickname like there earlier brothers(Bow Ties). These are the wing shaped rods with the "R" stamp in the top centre of the rod and it will be interesting to see what the out come of this poll will be.So lets give em` a name with something from there era of manufactuer...

The choices are:

1-Flat T-Rods

2-CBS T-Rods

3-Cold Head T-Rods

"Cold Head" is a reference to manufacture in the 67/68 Rogers Catalogue,pg.22."CBS" is the time period of manufacture and "Flat" is there shape compared to the Bowties. Thanks for voting.

Wayne

Sorry-poll didn`t come thro` so i`ll try to add it-never done this before-apologies to all. Please see second post on same topic to vote.-W.

How about "R-rods"?

I'll entertain this one. I vote for #2 "CBS T-Rods"

Reason why I chose this is to stay true to Joe Thompsons patent filed while he was still alive working for CBS. See patent that titles them as, "Tympani Handle Tension Rod For Drums." Useing the T instead of Tympani would simplify matters. Also, they were a CBS thang after all!

Cool. I had not seen that one before.

Joe invented everything.

The gods have spoken. I retract my Wing-R submission in favor of #2 and Gary N's research via Joe Thompson, "CBS T-rods". Boom!

Yes he did! I found in my research a total of 43 US patents for Josephus Brown Thompson. Even after he passed CBS was still patenting his ideas to lock the designs in for their own use. They did list him as deceased on the patent to give credit where it was due. At least they had that respect for him and what he designed for Rogers.
