A challenge for all VDF members

Loading...

Although I haven't heard a lot of asking on David's (The Webmaster) part, I am going to throw out the gauntlet and challenge all members to meet or surpass my own personal donation to David and his website of $75.00.

I realize times are tough, but I live in California (overpriced real estate) have a wife that works part time (so she can be home when kids get home) and did I mention two kids? Also the usual bills, etc. At least $160.00 a week for medical insurance alone!! And I still found some money laying around in PayPal from some drum stuff I sold recently.

So I'm challenging those of you who surf this site on a regular basis, ask questions, answer questions and oogle at the drums to reach in your piggy bank and let those purse strings loosen a bit and send a little dinero to our Webmaster who does this strictly for his own amusement (get a life, David!) and asks for donations very rarely.

No one put me up to this, I just feel if I'm gonna help out, then everyone should form a line and belly up with an open wallet and donate some money to David and help the guy out, especially since the new move and costs that have been incurred.

Yeah...and I challenge all gigging drummers here to donate ONE gig's pay t this site a year...just ONE! Come one people! You KNOW this is the greatest vintage drum site around and I KNOW some of you have gotten some killer deals on drums and/or saved yourself a lot of money thanks to this place. What say you all?singer

Well I guess if I'm going to issue a challenge, I'd best be able to tell people where they can send there money. David, if you are listening, can you help the giving people an address?? I did send him a payment through PayPal, but I don't remember if he put the address up on the board, so I won't post it, but I'm sure he will once he reads this.

Well, I'm working on some things that I did not notice on the site changes and I'm trying to figure them out...electricit

So the Donation Page does not work any more on the forum side, but in the admin side I can see the goals and make changes...

Then today in my infinite wisdom I realized that with the DNS change my email stopped working and that is the email address I had for the past 6 years.

Nothing I can do there, that was just a fact of life, so my new email is vsd@vintagedrumguide.com

In regards to Pay Pal, the forum donation Pay Pal account that is just for this forum is vsd@vintagesnaredrums.com

That was my old email, I have the new email ready as the primary, but when I went to go change that in the forum software I found that there was a problem.

Thanks everyone, I do appreciate it and I have records of all of the transactions and I want that to be public so we all know where the money is going. That is why I need to figure out that system because it keeps track of all of it and updates it on the goal page for the hosting.

I just can't seem to figure out how to go about using the address the way it is provided. It won't let me send it on my computer.

Lucky,

If you are a PayPal member, you should go to the Send Money tab on the PayPal website, enter the email address(vsd@vintagesnaredrums.com) on the first line, put in the amount in U.S. dollars, and check the box for Service/other. That's what I did and I had no problem, but you do need to be a PayPal member.

I'll take that challenge - I have a drumming gig this weekend and I wouldn't mind spending some of that dough on this place.
