Dan - The guy I bought the kit from is a working professional drummer. He also happens to be a Rogers fanatic! The first 6.5"wood Dyna I ever played and held in my hands was at this guys house. He has three! Two 5" and one 6.5" wood Dyna's!!!
The man takes -extremely good care- of all his equipment. (to the level of being anal retentive about it.) I saw at least ten Rogers kits from different eras. He swapped out the collets on the 9/72 Blue Onyx kit for the older machined ones. The bearing edges on these drums (which was the first thing I checked when I bought them,) look fresh and like they were cut yesterday. Everything about this kit is in pristine condition and they sound great. That's why I've been hemming and hawing about whether to keep or to sell it. If it wasn't in such excellent condition, I'd sell it and buy a Cleveland kit. This one is so very nice though, it's really been a tough decision.
Thanks to all of you for your highly valued input! This is why I asked you guys... I knew I'd get back detailed, high quality feedback!
John
