80's Ludwig Set

Loading...

My friend wants to sell his kit but doesn't know what to ask for it and neither do I. It's an '82 Ludwig 6-ply maple that's in great condition and the sizes are 13x12, 14x13, 18x16, 24x16. Please ignore the cymbals/hardware in the photo as he's only selling the drums themselves. Any thoughts? Thanks for your time![IMG][/IMG]

Those are like Slingy kits in that they sound great but are still cheap. I'll never understand what drives the collector market. Buncha goofs if you really think about it. I picked up my shell pack for about 200. That's not what yours will go for due to the larger sizes, but you get the idea. Fun rock kits!

Word of warning: I had the same kit, sans period floor tom...it took me 4 months to sell them. The rack toms are floor tom sized "power toms" and the market is soft on them. They sound good, but OMG, theyt are hard to sell. Here is a good idea though. List them on C/L in Wichita, KS. The drum market there is plain stooopid! People up there are crazy! I sold my Luds to a kid from up there, he drove to Norman to pick them up because, as he stated, "drums, especially anything "vintage" are selling fro drug money up there", in other words, they pay stuid prices just to say they are vintage. So, if you want to sell them for more than you might get locally, post them there.

Man do i ever agree with jonnistix, if you are getting this kit to play and not to resale you'll do OK, but as jonnistix eluded to, this kit won't have great resale value to it!! but it is a 1st rate drum kit!!
