80's Ludwig 14x13" Tom/Snare Conversion

Loading...

Why did Ludwig make 10 lug toms again? Oh yeah- so that we could eventually turn them into snare drums on the cheap! Early 7pl shell, 8x14 with 20 Classic lugs and P86. [Attachment: 45700]

Love it man!

Tell me more about the finish. I have a 13x14 with a white wrap that I`m hoping to get to this year.

Love those thick shells.

green glass drum -- Late 70s and into the 80s. I have a B/O rounded corner badge one that is the 6-ply shell, and a B/W badge (4-ply) that's a Rocker (with the standard/rocker lugs and modular mount). Not sure when it was actually discontinued.

barjack -- Nice job on the conversion. Might have to try that...

That is so cool. Nice job! Love the finish. I cut down a 20's leedy gretsch that had both ends destroyed. It was a 9x13. It's a 6.75x13 tom for now but I may make a 6.5x13snare out of it some day. Your drum is a beauty!
