Hi just got a 76 ludwig super sensitive shell 6 1/2 x 14". I had 2 questions. What size tension rod should I use? And, where can I buy the P71 complete SS assembly new (or refurbished/used)? Any help would be appreciated.

ebay has a million SS snare setups on for pretty cheap. You can get both vintage and NOS. there everywhere right now. remember, the snare beds are cut special so ONLY use the ludwig botton head specially made for the super sensitive snare drums or the drum will not tune up properly. You cant use just any old bottom head with the SS strainer.

Thanks, I also just found out that massmusic.net can get 1 new for 129.00 but it'll take 6-8 weeks from Ludwig. So when you say bottom head, do you mean head or do you mean bottom hoop? Thanks.
