'72 Slingerlands White Tiger Pearl

Loading...

'72 Slingerlands, except:

Bongos are '62 Ludwigs

'65 Ludwig Supraphonic

14" floor tom is late '70 Slingerland WTP

10" rack tom is of unknown origin, probably rewrapped early 80s shell w/ 70s badge & hardware

Later added a '69 Slingerland snare in WTP and what I think is an 8" '80s Slingerland light tom with '70s hardware rewrapped in WTP

You, young lady, have a very classy setup there. It's laid out very ergonomically. And the cool factor is through the roof. SWEEEET!

I had a problem with the cymbal I was playing hitting the adjacent cymbal when I tried to set up mine that tight. Is there a trick or something to this?

Yes. She's most likely playing jazz. That looks to be a flat ride up there.

If you play rock, I would suggest cymbal springs. That will allow you to put your cymbals closer together and have a controlled action. They still ring true, but don't bounce and flop. They also have the wonderful result of prolonging your cymbals. I've not broken one single cymbal while using the springs. Without 'em ... well ... I've split my share.

Ah yes! I do remember the cymbal spring from another post, now that I think about it. We actually have a drum shop in my hick town so I am going to head up there and see if he has any of these.

have a wonderful evening

From drumhack

I had a problem with the cymbal I was playing hitting the adjacent cymbal when I tried to set up mine that tight. Is there a trick or something to this?

Just lots of patience... it took me months to setup everything just right so the cymbals could swing freely without hitting each other. The cymbals are a little more spread out from the front to the rear of the kit than the picture shows. Even so, I still have one last jazz ride I just can't fit into my current setup (yep, I do play mostly jazz, or play at playing jazz anway ,lol)... plus I have one more rack tom to squeeze in somewhere....
