Hey Mendozart,

apparently you weren't joking when you said you wanted a Silver sparkle set after seeing mine :)

Enjoy the classic 3ply sound in a classic finish.

I've always loved that color. I'm telling you, it was destiny when these drums fell into my lap. I wasn't even looking to get a vintage set right now, so this has been a total God send for me. BTW, my kit won't look as nice as yours, it's got some extra holes on top of the bass drum, and is faded somewhat, but it sounds great and for what little I paid for it, it's a keeper.

Okay,

So I'm almost finished painting the hoops, they should be done by the end of the day. The only thing I need now is a new reso head. What are you guys running for resos? I had previously put the bass drum together with a coated PS3 and the stock Ludwig reso, it actually sounded pretty good, with probably just needing a felt strip on the reso. I was thinking coated Ambassador maybe, but I really didn't want to run a felt strip. Anyway, I can see the finish line. Excited

I personally use an Aqauarian Regulator. No felt strip needed. If you couple that with an Aquarian SuperKick II ..... watch out!!! BOOM!!!!!! This combination is the ticket and has proven itself over and over again. I use an enclosed Regualtor, no port, and white to boot!!! I'll see if I can get a pic to upload.

I've heard about some fitting problems with the Aquarians though. Did you have any problems? I personally love the SKII batter / PS3 reso on my '89 18x24 DW bass drum.
