70's Slingerland Gold Sparkle Kit / Opinions?

From a_marrah

Do you know where I can buy gold sparkle hoop inlays? Also, do you think having new inlays would look too "new" up against the original wraps on the shells?

Yes I was looking at the way your wrap has aged it may be a tough one with new wrap, here are a few places to look!!

This is what is confooosing me...the interiors of those shells look mahogany...which would suggest an earlier era....but the badges are silver/black niles.....(???)Eye Ball Wh....wh....wh....wh.....????

I see what you mean, Jaye, in the third pic down. That shot from the top, the interiors do look very dark.

I think, though, in the second pic down, looking up under the tom, it appears maple to me, or at least not as dark as mahogany would be. The interior ply seems to be the same color as the reinforcement ring? There's a lot of gold overtones in the lighting of the pics, but that's what it looks like to these old eyes.

A better pic would solve this,... can you oblige, A Marrah ... ?

Possibly an interior shot of the tom?

Thanks

Either my eyes are bad (which they are) or that's a M/P/WRAP shell. What the heck? Is there a third ply or not? Man, that's tough for me to see.
