[COLOR="DarkRed"]That a very interesting piece of hardware. I really like the old socket-ball japanese hardware. They were inspired by teh Rogers Swivomatic stuff...BUT (dare I say it) the Japanese ones actually work better, IMHO).

BTW...I actually LIKE 802's...I think they are probably one of the best, if not THE best, sounding budget cymbals available. They are underrated.[/COLOR]

Yes, you're right concerning the Rogers 'Swiv-o-matic' DTH!

Star called it 'Free-o-matic' ... - They were not afraid to copy at that time whatever was possible (the lugs of my Star look also like copies of Rogers' ones) ...

I don't agree with such things - and maybe that STAR is one of the reasons for the ruin of Rogers ...

Anyway, my Star sounds excellent and I will never sell it again.

Concerning the 802Plus: for me it's a nice completion with a separate sound character - and yes, it is a good value for the price paid.
