70's CB 700 Badge-Anyone know shell material and number of plies?

Loading...

Hello,

Anyone know what type of wood the CB 700 drums from the 70's were made from? For the "era" I am speaking of, see the photo below for badge, lugs and mounting bracket. Mine are the same as in the picture, only red sparkle.

I am guessing that is was phillipine mahogany or luan? Anyone know how many plies they were? Thanks!

Your drums are from about 1972-76..The shells are 7 or 9 ply with out rings phillipine mahogany..Tom mount is like a copy of the Rogers s-o-m-tom set up of the 60's-70's..Also CB 700 drums are made by Pearl same shells they used on the export drums....Mikey
