I do not know the answer to wheather the badge was removed to apply the Black Panther. To,clarify ,ONLY THE SNARE had been recovered.I got the set minus snare from one source and the snare from another. She told me the story and I asked Jack Lawton if he had indeed removed Black Panther wrap to reveal the Citrus Mod and he concurred he had.He also said it was difficult and time consuming. The snare drum is not the only time he has done this.He had previously done several and had two drums before Christmas that he was going to remove the BP wrap with Citrus Mod underneath.I will ask hom about the badge process.Jim

I just talked to Jack Lawton who did my snare(only the snare had been recovered)as it was added to the set by me.Jack said he has uncovered around two dozen of the Black Panther over Citrus Mod drums in the last 20 years. When he starts the badge is on top of the BP but he doesn't know if the badge had to be removed or had not been installed until after the Panther was put on.I would rather think it is the later. The old psychedelic colors of the late 60's,early 70's didn't make Ludwig much money!Jim

Sorry about the long delay before answering the question. The only drum in this pic that had been recovered in Black Panther was the snare. In this situation I believe the badge is removed and reinstalled.I have read that there have been complete sets that were recovered.NOT a popular color!
