The other day snagged a Yamaha ( 69-71 ) 20/14/12/matching snare kit here in Japan ( won'tarrive to my home until weekend ) . The bass drum is missing front hoop ( metal ) , t-rods and claws . I figure it'd be almost impossible to find original parts so I would like to procure new or used parts that'll do the job ( and match up fairly well ) . Looked on Ebay - nothing . Can't find anything ( so far ) here in Japan either . Can anybody suggest a store in the US from which I can order the aforementioned items ?

Merry Xmas!!x-mas3
good score and a great price with the extras. I've had 2 of that model and they are nice kits. I think the metal BD hoop is a pretty generic item but the Ts and claws are harder to find. On my red thunder kit the previous owner fitted wood hoops which I painted black. I have the metal ones somewhere but the inlays are missing and they look like all the other cheap metal hoops. I think they sound better with the wood hoops too. My Black Willow kit was missing the BD hoops Ts and claws so I replaced them with new ones from the local music shop along with wood hoops. Looks good IMO.
Thanks for the reply !
All gorgeous kits , but I especially dig the black willow kit ! Jump For Joy
Perhaps I'll go the wood hoop route .
Cheers !

Sweet find!
My normal MO is to replace the T Rods (and claws if necessary) with new until I find the originals. I do the same with the bass drum hoops.
Man that is a great looking kit. Great deal too. You can always use standard key rods on the kick until you find the appropriate T rods. They way not look as vintage but they work way better. When I get a bass drum that is missing it's front rods and rim I replace the rim with either a wood hoop or period correct but move the correct T-rods and claws to the front and put key rods on the batter side. The front looks vintage and the batter has a lot more tuning control.
Love that wrap!
