68ish Lido Supreme Black Oyster Pearl covering

Loading...

I am looking for a fairly rare covering for an old Lido Supreme kit. Any ideas about a source for vintage coverings?

The Precisiondrum.com "vintage black oyster" is as close as you can get to thos old Japanese BOP's.

...they have 2 black oysters, the Ringo and the Vintage.

Only other possibility is to find an old orphan drum. Those Japanese wraps come off fairly easily.

Yeah that's true...momentary digression here:

a lot of the colored oysters produced by Japanese companies in the 60's (which would basically be Star or Pearl) were oftentimes just white oyster which was then painted with latex pain on the backside to produce whatever color they wanted the oyster to be...be it turquoise, red, purple, etc.

I laughed the first time I unwrapped one and saw that !

But Black Oyster was black oyster...no paint req'd, I guess. Go fig'ya...
