I've been giving this some thought for a while. I am officially looking for a dance partner who might be interested in trading your Ludwig Oyster Black Pearl kit for my 1968 Slingerland Yellow Tiger Pearl kit. If any of you know someone who might be interested, please pass my contact info along.

I am looking for a 60's Keystone badge kit, preferably with a consolette tom mount and Downbeat sizes, but any 3-piece configuration from this era should work. I'm mainly interested in a 20" bass drum...I'm fine with 13" and 16" toms. I'm not interested in Club Dates at this time and I'd prefer not to have a project kit, but it doesn't have to be perfect. They're not "mint" but they are very nice. I'm looking for similar in an OBP kit.

Some details on my Yellow Tigers:

- Best guess is these are from 1967 or 1968 (I've seen conflicting historical information)

- 20/13/16 with a Krupa COB Zoomatic 14" snare, ride cymbal L-Arm and non-restored Slingerland Hi-Hat stand.

- 13" was was drilled for a Ludwig tom mount by a previous owner. I have the two holes filled with chrome carriage bolts.

- Non original washers on tension rods all the way around, but they all match.

- Non original diamond plate on 13" tom. It has been replaced with a Maxwell diamond plate.

- Bass drum hoops have been completely refinished. One hoop was cracked and has been repaired. It is slightly out of round but still works.

- Original Slingerland rail consolette has been recently re-installed. Many of the photos below show a Maxwell consolette mounted on a Slingerland 4-hole rail. There are photos at the end of the gallery that show the original consolette mounted. I can include the entire Maxwell consolette which I still have (minus the long spade, which I no longer have)

- Kit has been thoroughly disassembled and deep cleaned in 2012. I NEVER use steel wool on my metal parts.

- Many photos documenting tear down and cleaning.

I (somewhat jokingly) reserve the right to be freaked out and ask a lot of questions about your OBP's and I hope you'll do the same about my Tiger's. I know they are both desirable, one is very rare and the other is...well...very popular. I don't need to get rid of my Tigers, in fact I really, really like them. They're just not the set I grew up coveting.
