67 Combo outfit

1967 Ludwig blue oyster pearl Combo outfit with 1969 floor tom. It would be nice to have a 67 club date floor tom for this kit but I don't plan on taking out a second morgage on my house so I can buy one off poodder.

Your probably one of the few in canada with a set like this. Don't ever sell it man!

I wouldn't even be concerned about the floor tom. The first kit I got straight from the factory was a Ludwig Sky Blue Pearl Clubdate kit in late 1963. It actually came with a Ludwig Classic floor tom in lieu of a Clubdate. Go figure! All my other pieces have pre-serial keystones on them but the floor tom's got a keystone with a serial number dating it to early 1964.

CONGRATULATIONS on your kit. It looks EXTREMELY clean.Cool1

I'd strongly advise staying away from Ms. pooDer2 (wonder if there's actually a pooDer1?). Nothing good ever happens in her "neighborhood"!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm having a blast playing this kit. I just can't get over how good this kit feels and sounds.

Beautiful!

I finally finished putting together my '65 Combo recently, and I'm having the same experience: I can't get over how good it feels and sounds. They're some of the best drums I've ever played. Enjoy yours!

1950s Gretsch Name Band in Midnight Blue Pearl (13/16/22/14sn)
1965/66 Ludwig Club Dates rewrapped in Black Diamond Pearl (12/15/20)

Blue Oyster rocks! Really like the complimentary hue of the Acrolite, too.
