I just traded my Supraphonic for a 1965 Slingerland 'Artist' Series snare. This is a blue oyster pearl which has faded to a very pretty gray. I replaced the old head with an Aquarian single-ply coated head and this snare sounds killer. I have not much experience with Slingerland, but am very impressed with the organic quality of this maple snare with r-rings. It makes me wonder about the Radio Kings. I would like to replace the tension rods with a more 'minty set' if anyone has a line on some.

Good Heavens.
Have U seen what people are paying for
"original" pitted, crusty, HS parts on the
Bay?
Grab a bag of the properly threaded generics
and fire it up.

Thanks for your reply, Roscoe. The drum already has the 'original' rusty, pitted tension rods. I'm hoping to find some clean tension rods...the drum is in pretty good shape (some minor issues) and am trying to make it better. I am watching Ebay.
