Hmmm, if those spots are -in- the wrap and not on top, it's just normal aging I'd guess. Sometimes the glue they used will interact with the wrap over time and you'll get darkening or spotting in the wrap. I wouldn't worry over it. It doesn't hurt the value and nobody standing more than 12" inches away will ever see it, or know it is there.I copped this photo from Precision for you. It shows the difference between the old color and the new version. I think John is right on here. When I took the white shelf paper off of the RB gold sparkle bass drum I found, it looked like it (the sparkle) was made by gluing a solid layer of silver glitter on the shell which was then covered by a translucent amber/gold film on top. There were also a few dark spots showing through but barely noticeable. Your's looks good.
