'65 Hollywood?? (2-13")

Loading...

Hey folks, I just picked up a set of '65 Ludwigs, which I'm guessing are Hollywood's, but there are two 13" drums, NOT two 12" drums. Anyone know what the deal would be with these? Is this a rarity, custom order or what? The numbers are

13 x 9: 145433

13x 9: 147831

16x16: 145468

14x22: 145969

If it turns out this isn't anything special, I have my eye on a matching 12" tom from '67. Would this make this kit more valuable, other than the obvious playability? I'll only use one tom anyway, so doesn't make a whole lot of difference, just wondering from an eventual resale/trade standpoint. Here's some pics:

I[COLOR="DarkRed"] haven't ever seen that with a Luddy, but I have seen it, factory, with other brands....Slingy and earl Pearls, if memory serves.

I believe the earliest versions of the "2-up" configuration....the first ones...actually had matched size rack toms...to simply be tuned differently. This didn't last very long, however.

You may well just have one of those.

The Hollywood set up was originally with 2 12" toms, then they switched to a 12 and 13, so that's why I'm wondering.. .
