One owner. Matched kit with Jazzfest. All original but the 13" batter!
'64 Ludwig "Combo" kit
looks great. all the details are right on this one too. these are actually a blast to play in that configuration. well done!
i use an z arm in that center mount con mine to allow for a 22 or light 22 to be used.

Thanks Mike!
Was a little concerned that the badge was to be off center of the mount, as this is the pictures in the cataloges....???
Nevin
mine is a pre serial and has the badge and mount in the same location. ive seen some of the very late 50's with the badge one panel over from the mount on a 22 clubdate bass.
just found a pic of my bass drum from the original seller. it shows the badge and center mount clearly.

Is the Tom levitating?!?!?! Sorry new to this and I dont see a rail. :)

the ludwig 22/13 combo kits used a factory hoop mounted clipper mount for the tom.

Mike,
Seems like that would be pretty hard on the hoop!

some poeple think so. but the truth is that drum companies used hoop mounted toms for years during the 30's and later. some of the earlier kits had a hoop mounted tom on both sides. there were also many hoop mounted cymbals on those early kits as well.
the clipper is actually my favorite mount. ive got it on 3 or 4 kits. once you get it adjusted, its locked in with no problems. i use moleskin pad on the mount so that i keeps the hoop protected.
mike
very interesting, thanks

As Mike has stated, the mount on this is perfect in my opinion....talk about the options~! Have also a protective strip on top and bottom of the clamp to preserve the original navy blue enamel paint. This baby does NOT move! Was surprised to find also that there was only one mark on the hoop, which to me reflects that the original owner didn't play it much, or tear it down often.
Great pic of your bass also Mike....what a beauty of a wrap!! I love the sparkle wraps, but yours is second to none!
