'61 Slingerland Soundking Snare Strands

Loading...

Greetings,

I have a Soundking from '61, 3-ply wood shell with reenforcement rings. Anyway, I would like to get snare strands to replace the one's that are on there now which are the originals. Does anyone know who makes the replacements for this snare? I hear Puresound does vintage stuff, but so far I have only found replacements for the Radio King snares.

I know that it is not the Zoomatic throw off, it is something else.

Thanks,

Kevin

Any standard "snappy" snares will work. Canopus makes the closest reproductions of the Slingerland ones.

Agreed.

I've no issues with plain old Duplex or more recently,

Gibraltar.

Puresound extend past the bearing edge @ the

butt plate as did the original, but are really pricy.

Should you go that route, proper mounting instructions

can be found in an earlier post on this forum courtesy

of David.

Cheers.

Thank you very much for the help! I will probably go ahead and get the Puresound one, but does anyone know which model of there's I need? They all say RadioKing, no SoundKing. I was able to get my WFL 3 Screw strands for about $30. The Gibraltar strands usually run anywhere from $12-18 so I figured, just go for the gold, haha!

Again thanks, and please continue to post here, if any other ideas or help can be attributed!

You could use any snares puresound makes for a 14" drum...not the ones for any particular strainer like "radio King".
