I've always been smitten with the old school 20's and 30's finishes like mint green pearl and rose pearl, wraps that look like bathrooms interiors from that era. They're just so unique. So when Precision's supplier reintroduced some of this stuff I ordered it immediately. Special order by the full sheet only, but fortunately this is a bop kit that can be covered with two sheets.
This kit came to me painted black, but that was obviously not a factory finish. I ordered some of Precision's new Sea Green Pearl wrap, sanded the paint off and found a lot of low spots from an old refinish by a previous owner. This caused some problems with the new wrap, some minor warping and difficulty adhering in a few spots, but it's really only visible up very close. All in all I love the wrap color! And the kit sounds great, much better than Slingerlands from later in the 60's that I've owned. The bearing edges are wonderful and they all have a much wider tuning range than modern bop kits I've owned over the years.
