60's/70's Japanese Kit - Unusual Finish?

Hey guys,

Need some advise on this little Japanese Mercury Kit. I have a chance to buy this kit for $150. I don't think I have seen this particular finish before. It looks to be all original. It would probably be a nice kit cleaned and polished up. I know these kits don't bring alot of money, but is it worth $150?

Thanks

Looks a little like the Ludwig finish (psychedelic red).

I'd buy them for $150.00 - Cool little kit!

Yeah...never seen that particular pattern...$150 you can't go wrong...and it includes the snare.

Clean up the hardware, get new heads.... and maybe find someone to recut the batter edges (those old Japanese kits sometimes had notoriously bad edges) , and you would have yourself a fine ol' kit there !

Buy it - you won't be wrong with it.

Interesting is the inside of the shells: are they indeed white there?

Greetings - Ralf
