60's slingerland snare

Did the company paint the inside of the shell of the snare drums?

I know the tom and bass were painted.

I got my first new kit in 1965. It was a Slingerland three piece in Light Blue Pearl; 9x13, 16x16, 14x20, and a nice matching 5x14 snare. I don't recall what exact date was stamped inside the shells, but I can tell you without question that the shells were unfinished inside. I should know, I took them totally apart every year for a good cleaning. I finally sold them in 1971 to a student of mine. (no need to say I wish I still had them) You know, now that I think back on it, I believe the stamps in the shells were '64.
