60's Slingerland Blue Satin Flame

Loading...

Hadn't rehabbed any Slingerland kits lately so I picked this one up at the Chicago show. 20, 12, 16, with matching snare. This was the color and style of my first drum kit back in 1965, so it was a love buy. Chrome was excellent and the interiors are the chocolate milk color. Wrap has the typical scuffs and other small issues but overall a neat kit with the Faust Music head stamps on most of the original heads and inside of the drums themselves. Bass drum is virgin with no mount and all the drums have all their original parts intact. Hard to find them like that anymore.

They turned out quite well and sound very nice.

Beautiful set and finish! Flashes me back to my Slingerland catalog with a picture of the Shadows of Knight, fresh off their hit cover of Van Morrison's tune 'Gloria.'

Satin flame wrap always reminds me of the transporter on Star Trek, in a good way.

Stunning kit.
