60's Original Gretsch Round Badge 18" 12" 14" + snare in WMP.

I'm helping a very good friend that is selling this amazing kit:

60’s Factory original Gretsch Round Badge 18” 12” 14” + 14” snare (from late 50’s) in WMP lefty kit.

The set is an absolutely amazing condition, probably the best one I have ever seen.. All the correct hardware in very good condition. The edges are original and perfect. The wrap is vibrant with no cracks or splits. All the shells are 6ply apart from the snare that is 3ply. Paper tag on all the drums minus the snare. The snare was made before Gretsch used paper tags. The wrap in the snare is slightly “yellower” than the wrap of the set. The bass drum is an original 18” bass drum that was factory ordered for a lefty drummer. The wood hoops are in great condition with the original inlays. He will include the original rail mount + the new Maxwell reproduction rail mount.

This set was purchased from Luciano Pacchioni (RIP), probably many of you knew him.

For the interested people:

I have more pictures, just ask what you need to see. I will give my friend’s email only to serious buyers. He is a Gretsch and Zildjian K Istanbul collector (and player) and a really nice guy, but he is not a member of this forum. The drums are in Spain, but could be shipped worldwide.

10.000€ OBO (Could be sold without the snare too)

I don't know why, but I can't post pictures here..please send me a private message with your email and I will send them to you.

Thank you.

Nice set but out of my price range. It was only last September when I turned down this late 50s round badge wmp gretsch kit with an extra ssb tom and vintage hi hat cymbals because I thought 500 dollars was maybe too much.

That's a beautiful set and a nice deal, but totally different than what I'm offering...

An original set with a 18" bass drum is the holy grail of vintage Gretsch sets. Not many around in WMP with these sizes, and super rare being lefty made by factory.

Apples and Oranges but OK whatever .

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..

Excuse me for saying this, but that's $10,800 in US currency at this moment, in my opinion, an exorbitant amount of money for those drums, regardless of the rarity of the left hand setup. Add the cost of shipping, and you are well into $11,000+. I may be wrong, but I don't see it. If they were Cadillac Green or another extremely rare finish, maybe. On top of that, he has to find a left handed drummer who wants them. I guess they could be converted for right handed playing, but I don't know that.

However, I wish your friend all the luck in the world getting that kind of money. BTW, I never heard of the drummer he bought them from. Who was he?
