Maybe you guys can help me, I'd like to know the value of this 60's supraphonic, 6 1/2" deep, white baseball bat muffler. The chrome is in excellent condition, the sound is crisp and clear. I've never come across a deep supra from the 60's on e-bay, so I don't know how much it's really worth. It's not for sale, just curious.
60's Ludwig Supraphonic 6 1/2" deep
What do you want to trade for it, I've got a very nice ludwig 1960 school festival blue sparkle it's in the gallery?? also the 60's 402's clean like yours $300.00 $400.00 range, and i have seen them go fo more if you have 2 bidders with deep pockets!

Thanks for the offer, but I don't want to trade it, it sounds too good.
It's funny, I have a 70's supra 402, but the 60's 402 sounds so much better with the same heads and snares. Must be in my mind.
do you know what year it is?
I wonder if it is brass, that may explain the lack of pitting...
Early 1966 according to the serial number dateline in the Drum Guide.
Thanks kevins, I never realized there was a serial number dateline here.
Wow, I thought this drum would be worth more than 300-400, I often see 60's supra 400 going for approx. 300 - 350 on ebay, thought this deep shelled one was a rare find.
She still sounds sweet !

Chrome on brass supras are much more valuable.
Simple search on ebay tells all: http://completed.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=supraphonic+6.5&_sacat=0&LH_Complete=1&_odkw=supraphonic&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
If it is brass and 6 and half, its worth a whole lot - check out the sticky on the top of the vintage drum forum page "is my supra brass"
I think 66 was too late for brass though, to my knowledge those stopped in the early 60's.
if you aren't wanting to sell it, i wouldn't worry about the market value, money is money - but a 6 and a half supra; now thats something special.
